The project involves approximately 125,000 s.f. Included is a new 80,000 s.f. high school that is projected to accommodate approximately 900 to 1100 students, a new 25,000 s.f. gymnasium with girl's and boy's locker rooms, a new agricultural building and renovations to existing campus buildings and facilities. The systems also included coordination and provisions for a central computer network technology center and network cabling throughout the facility, as well as primary computer technology classroom(s).

SCOPE:                                                 The approximate MEP construction costs for this project was approximately $3,000,000, including but not limited to: total replacement and renovation of the existing 2-pipe airconditioning system with a 4-pipe system including central plant equipment replacement, renovations and additions of the thermal storage system, chillers, pumps and associated piping systems; boiler system and classroom ventilators; add new receptacles and computer system provisions; lighting distribution; replacement of front-end 277/480 volt electrical service rated at 3,000 amps; auditorium lighting systems; new area lighting; upgrade restrooms for handicap; and other tasks required by the TEA.

SCOPE:                                                 The approximate MEP construction costs for this project was approximately $900,000 and included: total central plant replacement of the existing 300 ton absorption chillers with dual rotary-screw chillers, pumps and associated piping systems; retrofit of the existing steam boiler system; replacement of existing library air conditioning and heating systems; airconditioning and heating systems for the new classroom addition; library and classroom renovations including new receptacles and computer system provisions; cafeteria remodel; replacement of front-end 277/480 volt electrical service to increase to 1600 amps for remodel and future considerations; new stage lighting and P.A. Systems; New area lighting; upgrade restrooms for handicap; new site communication and fire alarm system.

SCOPE:                                                The approximate MEP construction costs for this project was $900,000(Total $2.4MM) and included: total central plant replacement of the existing 300 ton absorption chillers and steam boiler systems with dual rotary-screw chillers, new boilers, pumps and associated piping systems; retrofit of the existing steam boiler system; Convert from four pipe system to two-pipe system per ISD instructions and abandon radiant heaters; replacement of existing library airconditioning and heating systems; airconditioning and heating systems for the new classroom addition; library and classroom renovations including new receptacles and computer system provisions; cafeteria remodel including replacement of airconditioning and hood exhaust systems; replacement of front-end 480 volt electrical service to increase to 1600 amps for remodel and future considerations; new stage lighting and P.A. Systems; New area lighting; upgrade restrooms for handicap; new site communication and fire alarm system. Included gymnasium ventilation only; Natatorium ventilation; replacement of light fixtures throughout the campus; replacement of drinking fountains; retofit locker rooms.

SCOPE:                                                 The approximate MEP cost was approximately 220,000 and included: retrofit of the existing chilled water/boiler heating system with a backup pump system; complete modification of the administration area; total replacement of the site communication and fire alarm system; complete replacement of the kitchen hood exhaust and air conditioning systems; new airconditioning/ heating, plumbing and electrical systems for the new staff lounge building; new classroom electrical outlets and computer provisions; modifications of the existing electrical distribution systems to accommodate the site renovations.

 

PROJECT:                                           Ft. Bend I.S.D. Day Care Facilities Additions @ Highlands, Mission Glen and Pecan Grove Middle Schools

SCOPE:                                                 Ft. Bend I.S.D. Day Care Facilities Additions @ Highlands, Mission Glen and Pecan Grove Middle Schools: A prototype for new construction was developed under this contract and adapted to the existing conditions for each of three sites. The base building was a total of 4,000s.f. and included a recreational area, office area and gymnasium. The air conditioning system included split system dx equipment, gas heating, energy efficient lighting, a fire alarm system and interface with the main school building system, modification of the existing main building electrical power distribution panel to feed the new building typical electrical power distribution system, utilities from the main building utilities systems.

SCOPE:                                                 Prairieview A & M University Hotel Conversion to Graduate Student Center. This project consisted of converting the existing student center hotel(approximately 5,000 s.f.) into the temporary headquarters for the University president and graduate students offices. The building was very old and required all new systems Designed in accordance with the Texas Energy Design Standard for New and Renovated State Buildings. A new multi-zone floor mounted air handler, with a hot & cold deck, was installed. Cooling and heating was provided from the campus chilled water and steam distribution systems. The system was provided with DDC Controls and integrated with the campus DDC Controls Network.  

 

PROJECT:                                           Texas A & M University Institute of Biosciences and Technology(IBT) Laboratory Addition at the Downtown Houston Texas Medical Center

SCOPE:                                                 Provided renovations and additions to the existing IBT research building, located in the Texas Medical Center on Holcomb near Main street, to provide new laboratories within the existing multi-story facility. New systems included, but was not limited to lab hoods with related exhaust/air conditioning systems, specialty controls, specialty acid waste systems, power distribution with emergency electrical provisions and life safety systems.

SCOPE:                                                 The existing underground annex building is approximately 5,000 s.f. and included MEP design related to dismantling the critical utility systems to isolate the entire underground building for complete abandonment. Responsibilities included the necessary work to modify the existing systems for those systems to remain in tact and operational, including but not limited to the access ramp lighting and power requirements.

 

PROJECT:                                           University of Houston Renovation Project to Convert Storage Space into Office Space for the Risk Management & Safety Department
